Happy Birthday Brandon

Happy 6th Birthday Brandon! Hope it is a great one!

Happy Father's Day!

"Happy Father's Day" to my wonderful dad! You're the greatest. You and mom taught me how to give to others just as Papa taught you. Thank you for all you've done. I've loved to hear your stories ever since I can remember. Tales of years gone by. Lots of funny happenings. Lots of memories. I thank you for showing me that family means a lot. Thank you for serving in the Navy during WWII for our country. I know that you love America very much and would serve again if they'd let you. Thank you for the talks we've had about God's word. (I do think you hold the record for reading the Bible through in a month's time.) Thank You for showing me that the love of God, family and our country are important! God Bless You today!

If I Had My Life To Live Over

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer.)

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it.
Live it and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff.

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with.
And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you all have a blessed day.

Graduation Party

Congradulations Allyson!

This afternoon we went to our niece, Allyson Lavy's, high school graduation party. Family and friends came to the celebration. The food was great. There were lots of young people there playing games and at the end having water fights. Just some good old country fun!

Never Underestimate People

Never underestimate people because some people are smarter than you think. The following story may prove my point.

Little Johnny used to hang out at the local corner market. The owner didn't know what Little Johnny's problem was, but the boys would constantly tease him.

They would always comment that he was two bricks shy of a load, or two pickles short of a barrel. To prove it, sometimes they would offer Little Johnny his choice between a nickel (5 cents) and a dime (10 cents) and Little Johnny would always take the nickel -- they said, because it was bigger.

One day after Little Johnny grabbed the nickel, the store owner took him aside and said, "Little Johnny, those boys are making fun of you. They think you don't know the dime is worth more than the nickel. Are you grabbing the nickel just because it's bigger"

Slowly, Little Johnny turned toward the store owner and a big grin appeared on his face and he said, "Well, if I took the dime, they'd stop doing it, and so far I've saved $20...!"
