"Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace." 2 timothy 2:23

Look what God has for us, but we need to pursue it! Reading God's word and praying are easy things to do. The acting on what we read and know is right is sometimes hard. Being righteous by keeping our tongue or controlling ourselves when someone wrongs us in word or deed. Watching our attitudes. Faith to trust God when it looks impossible or just saying, "Lord, if this is what you want for me, o.k." Loving others when they do or say bad things about you or to you. Living at peace with your fellow man. This is a scripture that I want to live. Just my thoughts!

Well, the laundry lines are full, breakfast is over and the dishes are done. I'm doing much better than yesterday morning. I am happier about it too. :)

I love early mornings and I don't like to rush into the day without praying and reading the Bible. I just feel like something is missing. It is funny because I think you get more done after you've been with the Lord. Maybe, it just a burden we carry because we haven't taken time to be with God. Sometimes, we can't help it because of circumstances, but we always feel like something is lacking. Know what I mean?

Today, Beth, Amy, the children and I are going to Dad and Mom's. This will be a fun time! My parents just love the kids. They are looking forward to seeing Beth and Amy.
They started preparing for today's lunch last night. I think we'll have fresh picked green beans, corn and tomatoes from the garden. Knowing mom, we'll have her peach cobbler and possibly hoe cakes. Some of her good southern cooking!

Both pictures that I have up today are from my parents house. They love to garden. The little fence area contains a dahlia that my dad grows that has been kept down through the years from my Grandmother Phillips. I bought him a yellow rose bush for Father's Day which is in this area also. The bottom picture is of their garden. I took it because I though it was cute. They work in their garden and then sit in their chairs and look at it. I just had to have the picture.

Slowly Getting At It

Last week has caught up with me and I am slowly getting at it. At everything... laundry, cleaning and the whole bit. It happens and like always we just keep pressing on.

"Plan your work & work your plan."
Rudyard Kipling

That's easier said than done, but this is a piece that I learned in grade school many many many years ago. :)

This should be good week since Amy is in. We will get to spend a lot of time reminiscing and enjoying the grandchildren. Amy is helping Beth get some decorative sewing done this week so that will be neat. Beth will probably post some pictures of the things they are sewing.

I'm just rambling so I think we will call it a day!

Family Happenings

Happy Birthday Brooklyn Lavy
The Sunday Blog is dedicated to Brooklyn who is 2.

The Welbaum Reunion

Today was the Welbaum Reunion at the Greenville Park. Merrill's mother was a Welbaum before she married. There were several there and the weather was nice. Amy made it in earlier than expected, so she got to be there for the twins photo. There are several twins on the Welbaum side that attend. Kim & Charles Marshall didn't get to be there since it is very close to the new baby's arrival. When you look at the twins the oldest twin is standing in the back. The reunion was fun and the brothers and sister were really happy to be with Amy, Kinsey and Caden.

Excitedly Waiting!

We are excitedly waiting for Amy, Kinsey & Caden to come in late Sat. night. It will be nice to be with them again.

Beth, Amy & I decided we would celebrate our birthday when Amy came in. The twins were born on my 30th birthday. I had 4 sons and I was very happy with my boys when God decided to bless me with twin girls. It was the talk of the hospital. My husband and I kept this secret for 9 months. There were 3 doctors, four nurses and my husband and I in the delivery room. The remark was made that if they had known there would have been so many, we would have had a party. They were born natural and they were 13 minutes apart. It was one excited delivery room & one excited hospital because just about everyone was discussing it. It was a happy birthday!

Happy Birthday David. Hope you enjoy your 14th birthday!

Early Morning Musings

Coffee in hand. It's not quite completely daylight yet. I have gone out and taken a picture of my sunflowers by my dog kennel. I plan to get one later today in the sunshine. (Sorry, Amy, I don't have any people this early in the morning, how's Zeus or Mittens since they think they are people.lol!)

There will be plenty of pictures in the next few days since we have another birthday coming up, anniversary, family reunion and when Amy gets in we will celebrate our birthdays. We mutually decided to wait until the twins I could be together. They were born on my 30th birthday.

It is raining today so there will not be a sunny sunflower picture.

Top Of The Morning

Top of the Morning to you!

Up and at um early this morning. I am one of these people who likes to go to bed and wake up without an alarm clock. My morning started at 5 o'clock. I have lots to do today, so that's o.k.

I didn't get to blog during part of June & July because we were at camp, vacationing & my internet service was out, so I will try to add a few pictures that I've taken the last couple of months.

There are pictures of the Phillips Reunion, our Niagra Falls trip which only lasted a short time since it was pouring the rain. I was afraid to get my camera out because of the rain. The picture we got was as we were leaving the falls area and the rain stopped for a short time. I had decided that I would not complain about the rain because at one of the stops outside of Buffalo, Ny, some people were talking about how thankful they were for the rain. The Lord sent a needed rain, so we did not complain. So, we stopped at WalMart in Buffalo and bought a couple of rain poncho's and went on. The poncho's made it somewhat bearable. (We did get wet & cold & it lasted for many hours because we did not get to our motel until about 4 hrs. later.)The falls are pretty in the wind & rain. Someday, maybe, we can go back on a sunny day and see what it's like. I did get postcards. It rained the next morning at Amish Country also, but we were just in and out of the truck and it wasn't too bad.I didn't take pictures there either, just postcards. They were very nice to us at the Amish Door resturant. We got there at closing on the 4th of July and they let us go in anyway because there weren't any good resturants open. :)

The picture of Breanna was for her 4th. birthday. Some pictures of my grandchildren. And...of course...some Lavy guys getting their needed rest. :)

God's Supply

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19

Wow! What a Monday morning lift! God will and does supply all our needs. Sometimes our needs are different than what we think. God is always faithful!

"Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
(Jesus in ) John 14:27

Wow! Another Monday morning lift!God's peace! Peace that only God can give!!!

Monday morning is always a little slow for me. But, I have got in dusting, bed making and phone answering... so maybe I'm not too late! l0l! I need to get in the garden. It just seems like I haven't had a lot of time to blog. Of, course, it doesn't take that much time, it takes thought on what you want to share with the blog world. Blogging is like anything else, it takes a certain discipline. Right?

I would like to recommend and remind you that I have a Bible link to the upper left of this blog. It has about 4 Bible versions that you can read, a Bible dictionary, commentaries, devotionals and other helps. I do not use it a lot, but sometimes if I'm online, I use it. Check it out and see what you think.

Also, for the young and young at heart, I still have my farm animals that you can play with. Plus, my favorite bear , the panda. My grandchildren (and my daughters) like to feed the animals. Enjoy! :)

Not trying to bore you, just show you around this page which I do from time to time.

"Have a good day!" as Paul Harvey would say.
Note: The pretty flowers are from my husband for my birthday July 7.

God's Wisdom

"The Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth
comes knowledge and understanding."
Proverbs 2:6

Today's Doings

I spent the day with Beth & Isaiah.
This is a picture that I took of them at the computer. Isaiah catches on quick. He made a comment when Beth realized she had made a mistake.

He's something else!

This is a picture that Beth took after we got back from shopping. Isaiah was getting tickled at our picture taking. His daddy just got home so he was very happy anyway!

It was good to get away and just relax...shopping! lol !
Beth fixed me a nice lunch. I looked at Beth's new flowers she planted. And we just had a nice time.

Sunshine And Shadows

Sunshine And Shadows

Sunny day brightness
Lifts the spirit high.
Shadow of the evening
Rest comes at night.
Sunny day sunshine
Flowers blooming brightly.
Shadow of the evening
Creeping in so slightly.
Sunny day cheerfulness
Robin singing sprightly.
Shadow of the evening
Slipping in so quietly.

Monday Morning Coffee

Monday mornings... what can you say about them. For myself, I've decided to get out the coffee grinder and grind mycoffee beans. What a rich full flavored coffee ...that I am enjoying right now!

Now, this would have been good with that icecream cake that I made for Sunday dinner. A friend, Heather Loper showed me the recipe Sat. at JoAnn Loper's bridal shower. I came home and looked it up at http://www.kraftfoods.com/ . It has a little video that shows exactly how to do it. How good is that?

It was extremely good and not quite as rich as the one's I buy from Dairy Queen. Considerably cheaper and anyone can do it.

I am so happy with myself. I saved about $50 on my electric bill. I've cut back on using the air conditioner. Letting the cool night and morning air in and then turning on the air when it just starts to rise above comfortable. And...hanging my clothes on the line to keep the hot air out of my kitchen. Merrill & Beth helped me replace the old line on my clothes line last week. I love to dry clothes on the line. I love the outdoor smell. As you can see...it doesn't take a lot to make me happy! lol!!!

"A penny saved is a penny earned!" as Benjamen Franklin said.

The Prayer of Jabez

If things seemed a little different, Beth has been posting for me a lot lately since I have been gone or my server has been down. Thank you secreatary/ office manager, Beth. What would dad and I do without you. You keep all our operations going! :)

Today has been such a blessed day with the Lord! I've been fighting a bug of somekind and haven't felt quite on top of it just kinda dragging around all week, but I was so glad to be in our morning service at church because it was such a great praise and worship time.

The Sankey family were at church today. It was so good to hear them sing again! We miss them. When I think of Brother Sankey, I am reminded of the Prayer of Jabez which he has preached on at times. The Lord has certainly blessed him and his family with a new Mexican ministry. In fact, the Lord has a ministry for all of us whether it is prayer, reaching out to those around us or working in the church. We all have a place!

The Prayer of Jabez

Now Jabez called on the God of Isreal saying, "Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" And God granted him what he requested.
I Chronicles 4:10

Internet Down

Can not blog because internet service is down. I miss blogging. Will be back as soon as I can.

Kansas Flooding

Just a note about Amy & Monte and the family. They are still in Missouri on vacation and have not been home during the flooding of Independence, KS. I talked with her Sat. night and a big part of Independence is badly flooded. It is in a state of emergency right now and they cannot return home. They planned to go home Wed. but I am not sure if that will be possible. So far, their home is o.k. Their yard is flooded but the house itself is high enough that the waters have not flooded it. They do know some people that have completely lost their homes.
Pray for them and their safety.
