Spread A Little Brightness...

Today, I am reminded of an old Sunday School song...

Shine like a candle, shine like a star.
Shine at the place, in the space where you are.
Show to the world a face that is bright.
Where there is darkness, let there be light.

I was talking with a friend tonight, about so many needs that are around us. Hurting people and big problems face many people in this world. God wants all of us to have a little brightness and cheerfulness to share with the world around us. We shine the brightest when we share God's love to a hurting and needy world.

And... it has been said, we are the only Bible that some people will see. We should spread a little brightness like a candle burning in the night!

Back Again...

I'm back again, but not blogging is becoming a bad habit. For sure, it's not the lazy days of summer like the old pop song goes, or the cute poem about computing and cleaning that I got from a friend. With me, it's canning and freezing. Well, the work will still be there! It's just the busy, busy, busy days of summer.

Although, I think I will share the poem since it was so cute. Maybe, some of you can relate to it because you don't have a lot to do in the summer and can spend a lot of time on the computer, but I don't think I know anyone like that. Anyway, enjoy the idea! :)

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..
I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it
I was into it all night.Sigh--

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

This Is Awful...

Yes, this is awful... I haven't blogged one time in August 2008.

I have just been busy with corn, beans and peaches. I am getting some food put away from the garden and orchard. Yes, the weeds are bad because I just can't do everything. The Roundup Sprayer is coming out, hopefully, today. We've already mowed down part of the garden which has been harvested. All that's left to do is plant my fall garden with turnips and beets. I may try a few pots of some herbs and lettuce. They can be brought in for winter. We'll see.

Gardening is lots of work. I think this is why I like the change of seasons so well. I'm always ready for the next season. :) I enjoy my seasons, though. Each one has so many special things to enjoy, but after a time, the new one is welcome.

Well, there's still a little more time before summers over and we sure can't complain about the weather because it has been great. We'll enjoy it while we can!

Don't you just love today's date? 08/08/08
It is just kind of a neat date.
