I will praise the Lord all my life.

News Update...

The cat is still with me..... :(

I had the door closed and evidently Merrill left it open this morning when he came to ask me why the lights were on and the cat is back in the basement. Will it never end? lol!

The Saga of the Cat In The House...

Well...after trying to catch the cat...I've succeeded! I have chased & chased this thing so many times. It made it's home in my basement, but would come up to eat. The thing ran like greased lightning!!! It finally started slowing down and would peek from the top step at me, but would never come out until I left. Last night, I got a throw and hid behind it until the cat came upstairs... it ran in the familyroom and I closed the door. The battle kept on until the little guy went out the sliding glass doors. I did not see it leave, but there are not signs of the cat and no meowing.

Merrill, got up this morning and wondered why all the lights were on. I guess I was so tired that I didn't even turn the lights out. Not like me at all! It was about 1:30 before the battle was won! :)

Something funny!

Do you wanna know something funny? Mittens my favorite cat had kittens. They have been weaned at least a month to six weeks. Well, when I opened the door last night to feed my dog and cats, one of the kittens came in. We have looked all over for that cat. We can hear it meow, but cannot locate it. I think that it is probably behind my washer and dryer which are in a closet in my kitchen. I am putting out food and water. Merrill hates animals in the house, but I told him that if I had a cat, I want it to be a live cat and not a dead smelly cat! It is wild, so I don't know how long it will take to get it out. I am keeping the bedroom and bathroom doors closed. Who knows when I do locate it - how I am going to get it- it has never been held. Well, so much for my cat problem... Oh, the picture, I don't dress like that, but I run like that when I hear a meow! I was up a couple times last night when I heard the meow which goes through closed doors. I just can't locate the cat!!! :)

Ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

End of Week News

Amy doesn't like me to blog without pictures. So... here you go Amy. I fixed the red eye in this picture of the girls. Just thought she'd enjoy me posting their picture. :)

This has been a fun week. I've made my second batch of homemade vegetable soup. Merrill doesn't like soup in the summer, so I always look forward to fall when I can make soup. I've baked 3 good loaves of bread. I had one (#4) that did not rise right. Don't actually know what happened there, but that does happen sometimes.

Thursday night Buffy, Breanna & I we went to Sandra Hatfield's baby shower at the parsonage. She got a lot of nice things for little Levi.

Merrill, Steve & Wayne went to Southern OH hunting. So I've just kinda hung out today. I haven't had much relaxation time lately so it was welcome. :)

That's about it for the end of the week news.

Isn't This Cute ... or What?

I finally got my pictures loaded onto my computer from last weeks events. My USB cord disappeared! :) Anyway, I staged this picture of Breanna. It reminds me of Beth & Amy's Holly Hobby things when they were young. I just love it! Hope you like it too!!!

Breanna likes hats that is why you see so many pictures of her with my hats on. She's a great "hat" model. She also likes tea parties and we usually have a lot of tea parties when she is around.

Check out my previous pictures to catch her at tea!

Poor Baby!

Beth & Buffy have been my work crew at one of our rentals. Little Isaiah had to be penned up while we worked. He's such a trouper! Breanna makes things a little better because she entertains him.

Pictures of the Grandchildren that were here for Sunday dinner. Dave, Nick , Brett and Breanna.

Yes, I am here .....

If you are wondering ... I am here. I just haven't been real faithful to this blog lately. I have been working on some more pressing projects which I hope will be finished soon! I have some place holders for some of the pictures that I took at the end of the week and over the weekend.

Of courese, the big thing was that our young married couples at church went to Gatlinburg. There were lots of babysitting grandparents! :) It really was fun and brought back old memories of days gone by when the children were home.

Tea Time!

Anyone who knows Breanna, knows that she likes tea parties. She'll say, "Grandma, can we have a tea party?"

This is a picture of Breanna at tea.

Program Time

These are the pictures from Brett's school program called, "Spaced Out." It was about planets and stars etc. Brett was a star. (Brett is in the middle back row in the left picture.)

Brett gave his sister his head band star. They are both very happy for the transition. :)

The Old Paths

I thought that I would share these thoughts I got in an email from my aunt written by a Tennessee preacher.

THE OLD PATHS

I liked the old paths,
When Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!

Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.

Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.

Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive;
And children were polite.

Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.

People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!

Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal;
And crying sounded sincere.

Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness;
And divorce was unthinkable.

The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!

We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And preached from house to house.

To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!

Preachers preached because they had a message;
Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!

A new birth meant a NEW life;
Salvation meant a CHANGED life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.

Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the Word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!

Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.
God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected.

Church was where you found Christians
on the Lord's day,
rather than in the garden,
on the creek bank,
on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere else.

I still like the old paths the best!

Something Kinda Cute

Well, I just thought I'd like to put up something cute today. I needed a funny story!

One of Seven

WELL OFFICER, IT HAPPENED THIS WAY
I rear-ended a car this morning...
I tell you,
I knew then it was going to be a REALLY bad day.
The driver got out of the other car,
and he was a DWARF!!
He looked up at me and said "I am NOT Happy!"
So I said, "Well, which one ARE you then?"
That's how the fight started.........................

Happy Birthday Caden

Happy Birthday Caden. This blog entry is dedicated to you on your "6th" Birthday.

Green Thumb Monday

Green Thumb Monday, is still doable because our weather is so nice. There is late garden produce, flowers are still blooming, and there are butterflies. It is still a beautiful fall October morning. It will probably be one of the last nice working days outside. I'm not much of a cold weather person so, I will need to get some green thumb things done today to prepare for winter and next spring. (Mainly get rid of weeds and weed seeds & a little mowing.) I will need to mulch after the ground freezes, but that's about it for my outside work.

This is a poem that I wrote recently about God is the Master Painter. A tribute to the beautiful fall flowers that God has created for us to enjoy.
Just thought that I'd share it with you.

God Is The Master Painter

God is the Master Painter
He makes all things new.
He paints the leaves of plants
With shades of every hue.

Reds, greens, browns,
Orange and yellows, too,
God paints our surroundings
With shades of every hue.

God is the Master Painter
He paints in every hue
He paints our surroundings
When Autumn days are due.

Reds, greens, browns,
Orange and yellows, too,
God is the Master Painter
He paints in every hue.

Rejoice In The Lord Always

"Rejoice in the Lord always." Philippians 4:4

God is God! God is so good. He is always there for us and we can trust Him with all things. We can always rejoice even in the hard times.

We had a baptism service and dinner on the grounds today after the morning service. The weather here is great. I'm not sure how hot it got, but I'd guess close to 90 degrees. This is great October weather!

Of course, Merrill and I came home and took an afternoon nap. Completing our Day of Rest!

Check Out These Gobblers!

These guys were something else! My sister, Bonnie, and I were leaving our family reunion late Saturday afternoon and were driving back in the hills of KY. We were really kinda looking for the bear that have been released in that area when we ran across these gobblers. The turkeys weren't real happy with us and we thought they might try to flog us. They seemed aggressive and flared their tail feathers. Of course, they are vain, so maybe they were just showing us how neat their tail feathers were. Anyway, we took some pictures and left. They really are beautiful birds. I believe they are wild.
