These are just a few of the Memorial Day pictures for the get-to-gather at Wayne & Wilmas.
I didn't get any of them playing volley ball or ball. Just the little bouncers.

Looking At Pictures
I was looking through my recent pictures to see if there was anything I wanted to share. Here are two pictures from outside that I took today. The first iris is an old fashioned iris. It is unique in its own way, but not as pretty as the new iris that are available. The second iris is my peach iris. The sun was too bright and my other flower pictures didn't look to great.
This is a picture of Amy working in her front flower bed. There weren't any flowers blooming in this particular bed right now, but she has worked so hard on it and it looks nice. The picture to the right was when the flowers were blooming earlier this spring.
The one below is Beth's front flower bed and she has iris's that are blooming now. I may have to do a little trading with her. I have peach and blue and she has a light purple. hmmm They are very pretty. It is so nice to have daughters that like to garden.
I think what I needed was some pretty flower pictures from my parents house to finish this out. They have some really pretty flowers right now. Mom has a beautiful white iris, but I have to stay away as long as I have this cold, so hopefully, next week I can get some pictures there. Oops, I almost forgot my daughters-in-laws, they have pretty flower beds that are really nice to share too. I do need to get some more pictures.
Top Of The Morning To You
Top of the morning to you, the weather is a little warmer, it is in the 50's but it should get up into the 80's later today. Quite a change from what we have been having. It shouldn't be to bad working in the garden and yard today. We'll enjoy the change.
I thought the turtle picture was cute especially since we are slowly getting warmer weather. It has been nice for the fruit trees and fruit this year since it didn't get too warm too fast and the blossoms didn't get frozen out. Blessings that many people don't think about.
Have a great day!

Just Chatting...
Today, we'll just chat! I'm just sitting here working at my desk and I'm still under the weather, but things go on. It is another cold morning, around the low 40's,but the good news, it's going to get up in the 70's.
Merrill and I had a nice supper at Beth's last night. Mike's parents, Bud & Sherry Dickinson, are up from Arizona and it was nice to get to see them. Bud did a great job grilling chicken on their new outdoor grill.
Later today, I will put up some of the picture that I have taken in the last week. One busy week, that probably contributed to my cold since I didn't get the rest that I needed. But, that's life.
I'm helping a friend, every now and then, with a very ill little old lady, and her husband, that are in their 90's. She is very sick, but we had a nice talk about the Lord and how good he is to us. Monday, she told me that she had peace in her heart and it was o.k. whether or not the Lord took her. She was content to go be with the Lord. It is amazing how God comforts those who are Christians when it gets close to the end. In fact, we never know what a day holds. As some old time preachers use to say, "We should live every day as if it were our last day."
I am reminded of the scripture, "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14 KJV
Global Cooling
Well, if you ask me it's global cooling not warming. I had to turn my heat back on and I have a cold. Actually, I don't really believe in either. I don't think man can change the earth cooling and heating, that's God's job and what happens to our heating and cooling is a natural course of events, that goes along with time. Of course, we can create pollution by not working and living sensibly, but hey, that's another story. I'm just saying it's cold outside and I have a cold inside and I am very miserable. The cat picture is how I feel!
I think I'm going to have to check out my do not call list, sign up. I'm getting almost non-stop calls, one right after the other. Everybody and his brother, so to speak, is calling for money. Wonder where the good old days of working for some of it is? Well, as you can see, my cold is getting to me and I'm not in good humor.
I did get out and roto-till this morning. The onions are just about ready to use. The radishes should be good for awhile since it is staying cool. The corn is up and the potatoes are looking good. I need to plant more, but while I was gone last week the thistles made a great comeback. So, I will need to spray, but it is too windy, so maybe later today. I will have to get the rest of my corn and my beans in so they have a good start before I leave for camp in a few weeks. Anyway, gardening is an enjoyable task.
Well, tell you what. I'm going back out to work, my phone just keeps ringing and I'm not in the mood to answer it. I'm going out, alone, with no phone. It's just one of those days!:)

Lots of Miles
This past week made me think of the poem by Robert Frost, about stopping by the woods on a snowy evening, "...and miles to go before I sleep."
Thursday night, we went to Caden's kindergarten graduation in Independence, KS. It was a nice service. Brandon was graduating from kindergarten at the same time in NC. As soon I get some pictures, I'll post them. Congratulations boys on a job well done!
Beth and I got back Friday night from Kansas. We left at 4:00 a.m. (5 our time) We made it back a little faster than we went, maybe 12 1/2 hr. The traffic wasn't real bad until we hit Indianapolis, In. So, not bad for a holiday week end. We thank the Lord for a safe trip.

Yesterday, we went to Wayne & Wilma's for a holiday get-to-gather. It was fun watching everyone enjoy playing ball, horseshoes and the kids jumping on the trampoline. Just a nice beginning to summer.
Anyway, I am glad to be home for a few weeks, at least until camp. Our neighbors probably wonder if we ever stay home. I'm beginning to wonder if Merrill and my theme song shouldn't be, "on the road again"! At least, it feels that way.
Memorial Day
I want to say Thank You to the servicemen who are serving our country at this serious time in our history. Thank you, for keeping us safe and Thank You for trying to keep the enemy from our shores. You are appreciated very much by so many of our countrymen whether the news media reports it or not. Hopefully, there are those that can reach you with the message of love and support.
Thank You, to my dad, uncles, and friends who have served our country in the past. We live free because of what you did for us. Many didn't make it home and we honor them this day. Many of you made it home and the memories of the war stay with you even to this day. Thank You, God Bless you all!

Some Gave All
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall,
Yes recall

Some Gave All
I knew a man called him Sandy Kane
Few folks even knew his name
But a hero yes was he
Left a boy, came back a man
Still many just don't understand
About the reasons we are free
I can't forget the look in his eyes
Or the tears he cries
As he said these words to me
Few folks even knew his name
But a hero yes was he
Left a boy, came back a man
Still many just don't understand
About the reasons we are free
I can't forget the look in his eyes
Or the tears he cries
As he said these words to me
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all
Now Sandy Kane is no longer here
But his words are oh so clear
As they echo through out our land
For all his friends who gave us all
But his words are oh so clear
As they echo through out our land
For all his friends who gave us all
Who stood the ground and took the fall
To help their fellow man
Love your country and live with pride
And don't forget those who died
America can't you see
To help their fellow man
Love your country and live with pride
And don't forget those who died
America can't you see
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me

God Reigns
"The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD." Psalm 146:10
Just think of what a comfort it is to know, that in this troubled world, we serve a God who reigns. It doesn't matter what man thinks he can do, God is still the ruler of this world. The greatest joy on this earth is serving a risen Savior. We are nothing and He is everything! Yes, my God reigns!!!
MY GOD REIGNS
There's nowhere else that I'd rather be
Than dancing with You as You sing over me
There's nothing else that I'd rather do
Lord, than to worship You
So, rejoice, be glad, rejoice, O my soul
For the Lord, your God
He reigns forevermore
I rejoice, for my God reigns
So rejoice, be glad, your Father and your friend
Is the Lord, your God
Whose rule will never end
I rejoice, for my God reigns
My God reigns
And I dance the dance of praise
My God reigns
With a shout I will proclaim
My God reigns
And I worship without shame
My God reigns
And I will rejoice
For my God reigns
There's nowhere else that I'd rather be
Than dancing with You as You sing over me
There's nothing else that I'd rather do
Lord, than to worship You
So, rejoice, be glad, rejoice, O my soul
For the Lord, your God
He reigns forevermore
I rejoice, for my God reigns
So rejoice, be glad, your Father and your friend
Is the Lord, your God
Whose rule will never end
I rejoice, for my God reigns
My God reigns
And I dance the dance of praise
My God reigns
With a shout I will proclaim
My God reigns
And I worship without shame
My God reigns
And I will rejoice
For my God reigns

Happenings...
It has been a busy week with picnics, ball practice and family fun. I have lots of pictures, but I probably will not post any until next week. Cadens Kindergarten Graduation is tonight. Hopefully, we can get some more family pictures today and tonight at the graduation and party.
Beth, Isaiah and I will leave at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow to head home. It has been up around 90 degree here, I'm not sure what it is at home. We don't want to be picky, but we don't like driving in rain, so we hope it doesn't rain while we're driving in the holiday traffic.
It has been nice to be with the family since we haven't seen them since Christmas. We could not stay, but it would have been nice, since today is their last day of school. It just seems like time flies.
Until next time...

Kansas Trip...
Thank the Lord for traveling mercies. I'm blogging from Kansas this morning. Beth, Isaiah and I got here last night around 7:00 p.m. It took us around 13 hr. We traded drivers about every 2 hrs. Isaiah traveled pretty good for a 2 yr. old. By our stopping and letting him get a little run in, he wasn't too unhappy. Of course, the last change, Beth did have a little trouble getting him to sit in the car seat... his little legs did not want to bend. So, we knew that it was best not to do any more driver changing. He's a trouper!
It was cold in the 40's when we left, but it was almost 90 when we got to Missouri. So, the weather change is significant. The gas price is too. We bought gas in Missouri for $3.64, but right down the road there were some stations that had it for $3.44. In Ohio we had paid $3.89. Now folks, that is a significant drop!
So, that's how the trip went. Well, I'm off to a full day of fun in the sun! We're going to meet Kinsey and Cadens school at the park where they are having a field trip. This is a cute little park with rides and flowers and a little petting zoo. I don't think the rides open until Memorial Day, but everything else is nice.
Have a great day!

Saturdays Tea
We had such a nice tea at the Pastor's House Sat. Stephanie Phillips and Diana Beatty did a great job with the tea. The weather was nice, the food was great and the ladies looked beautiful in their hats. What an enjoyable precious time it was. It is such a pleasant memory !
I just got around to downloading my pictures from the tea Sat. I thought you might enjoy the few that I have. Others have more, maybe they will share what they have, too. My gallery:

Ramblings...
My Mothers Day was pretty much spent by myself and in the After Hours Clinic. I talked to most of my children and my mother a couple times yesterday and felt their love and compassion. They are a wonderful comfort. I watched our morning service on the net, then I went to the clinic and then got home about 2:30. My family which were supposed to have dinner at my house, instead, had dinner at Wayne's & Wilma's house. Thanks to them so much for going on in spite of everything. They are a great help!
When you think that you are nothing in this big, vast world, that you are just one little being, remember this, that God uses us, one by one. We are each one, individually, responsible to do the work that He has for us to do on this earth. Someday, people will walk by your casket and look into a face that is cold and still. They won't remember your clothes, your house or your accomplishments. They will remember you as an individual. I was thinking of this quote from Helen Keller, “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do." Today, do something for God, only He know what you are supposed to do and only you can find that out.
I was looking for a poem that I had written about my mother a couple years ago. I couldn't find it, so my thoughts went a different direction this morning. That's how I get when I ramble. Maybe that's as it should be. God Bless and have a great day!

Happy Mothers Day
Happy Mothers Day to a wonderful mom! You've always been there loving, caring and praying. I always know that I can count on you because you've always cared for me as well as anyone that is within your range of contact. Your example has been an inspiration to many. Thanks again for everything, Happy Mothers Day, I love you!
The Stork Is Filling The Quiver...
"... Yes, sons are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Sons born during one’s youth are like arrows in a warrior’s hand. How blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!" Psalm 127:1-5
The Drugger family are expecting the stork again! Wow! What a family... I do admire them because they are really, really neat. Read the fox news article here: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,354694,00.html
I love big families because there is usually so much love, sharing and caring in them. They, usually, have a good work ethic because it is a real necessity. They, usually, aren't selfish either because they do learn to share. My great grandmothers and grandmothers had lots of children, but I had to quit at six. I got tired! Six kids in eight years was the most I could handle. I felt that was what God wanted for me and quit. Although, at times, I thought about a seventh, the perfect number, but I was afraid I would have 3 since there were triplets in my family history. Yes, six was good for me!
Everyone can't have a lot of children, but for those who can like the Druggers and they enjoy it... all I can say is go for it! I can't complain because... Blessed Is The Man Who's Quiver Is Full!!!

A Nice Rain...
We got a nice rain that we needed very much. We had corn, onions, radishes and potatoes just getting ready to poke through. I haven't been out yet, but with the rain, the plants are probably through the ground today. It is really starting to get exciting in the garden world.
Also, I pushed my luck a little. I planted some early tomato plants. I know that, here in Ohio, the frost free date isn't until May 15. I do have tomatoes cages up and I can slip a plastic garbage bag over my cages if necessary. So, definitely, I'm going to watch the weather! :)
Just as soon as it gets dry Beth and I have some more planting to do. We have to get our beans, melons and some more corn planted. Who knows, there may be some surprises out there.
Well, so much for Gran's Garden... enjoy your day!
Home Again
We had such a nice NC trip again this past week end. The weather and scenery was just beautiful. Paul, Candy and the boys are always glad to see us and their hospitality can't be beat!
Wayne, Wilma & the girls went with us. They trip was easy going, of course, there wasn't a lot of room in the back seat. I still haven't learned to travel without taking everything but the kitchen sink. :) But, I'm learning. I will get to try again real soon when I go to Kansas.
Here are a few recent pictures that I've uploaded off my camera. (I love digital cameras, they are so neat- instant pictures!)
These are pictures of some of my grandchildren and our pastors daughter.
Some NC Trip Pictures:
As you can see they had lots of fun playing basketball and just unwinding!
