National Day of Prayer

“If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14

I therefore beg leave to move That henceforth prayers, imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business; and that one or more clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service."

National Day of Prayer

I urge you to join the "National Day of Prayer." America is a great country and we still have the freedom to worship, pray, work and live like we want to. Yes, we are losing our freedoms as Christians, but a lot of that we've brought on ourselves. Not everyone feels like getting out and joining many groups in prayer, but you can pray at home and join in the National effort for those who see the great need for America to change it's course. Of course, I see the need to put feet to your prayers and vote or do whatever you can to make America a decent and safe place to live. But, prayer does changes things! Prayer is our greatest effort!

America has all the wrong idol's right now. Hollywood, sports figures, and people who have dreadful life styles. The Ten Commandments are tread upon and Christians are made fun of, and put down at increasingly regular events and times. Our news media seem to thrive on so called Christian downfalls. They love to note the people who really have hidden sins. We call them wolves in sheep's clothing. We are deluged with people who proclaim to preach the gospel, but support sinning lifestyles. If we don't do something now, we may very soon not have a chance. It is snowballing. We've got to support the right things, demand changes and work to see those changes, but the biggest, most important element of the whole equation is "Prayer!"

I'm preaching, but for our children, grandchildren, friends, relatives and our country in general. For a free America with Godly values, the land that we love! Hopefully, that is the goal for anyone who reads this.

God Bless You Today and please "Pray for America" today!

Thank you Connie, for reminding us to pray. You are right - it is for our children, families, grandchildren, and for all of those we love who are coming up after us. Love, Sherry D
